Mental Health Gate Posts

In 2015 I was commissioned to make mosaics for the new mental health residential facility in Beighton Sheffield. I created two panels for the gateposts. The gateposts are placed at the entrance to the facility and add a touch of colour to the development.

The theme was recovery and a link with nature. I created a design which showed layers of mosaic gradually getting lighter in colour towards the top of the image. The layers contain mosaics shaped to look like seeds at the bottom of the panels as the clouds lighten towards the top the seeds start to grow but only really reach a two leafed seedling at the top to show that recovery will continue.
