Aldi commission, ‘ The Old Drill Hall’

I worked with Eckington Secondary School Art Dept. to create the soldier side of this mosaic based on an old photograph of my Grandad. The Old drill Hall was demolished to make way for the new Aldi Supermarket on the site. There used to be dances in the Hall in the evenings and Soldier training during the day. Some met their future spouses there and Jitterbugging was the dance of the day before WW2.
